Phuong Dong Times
The Phuong Dong newspager began in 1991 as a weekly newspager serving the Seattle and surrounding areas. In 1993,
the name was changed to Phuong Dong Times which lasts until the current name. Since the paper's debut, over 18,000 copies of the paper have been published and distributed free of charge to readers both in the state of Washington and Oregon.
Phuong Dong Times originated as a division of the weekly newspaper "Nghe Si", the brain child of journalist Le phuoc Hiep
also known as Vo Thanh Dong. For almost 8 years from its beginning in 1992 in Orange County, Nghe Si Newspaper was the
eminent voice for all Vietnamese who left Vietnam following 1975.

In 1989, Vo Thanh Dong moved to Seattle Washington and left Nghe Si Newspaper in the hands of Artist Tran Quoc Bao to
be managed.
Vo Thanh Dong began his career in newspaper publishing in 1964 at which time, Vo Thanh Dong at the young age of only 17
and unde the pen-name "Vo Dinh Thuy" worked at "Song Moi" Daily News which by the poet Duong Ha. Athough Vo Thanh Dong started out in un meaningful
positions such as receiving and collection leftower newspager and opening mail, the experience helped Vo Phuong Dong
developed the publishing skills that made him one of the well-known published that he is today.
With the arrival of the internet, Phuong Dong Times hope to better serve our customers by being easily accessible anywhere
and any time. Thus, the arrival of Phuong Dong News online located at http://www.phuongdongnews.com. The goal of
our website is to not only deliver the latest news and news worth material to the Vietnamese community in Seattle
